Thanks Melanie :) Very true that you don't have to move faster to to build the cardio, sinking onto those poses is the key. very clearly explained and paced out evenly. This is one of my favourite beginner yoga workout as it guides you step by step without having to worry about other poses that you may have to try in a physical class room. get the basics straight before you try advanced levels. Back before I had kids and actually had time and disposable income, I used to go to a really fabulous yoga studio in my town once or twice a week. This video is reminiscent of a multi-level class with one of my favorite instructors. I love that the poses are held longer with the intention of building heat. Lori says it well - you don't have move quickly between the poses to build up a sweat and get the benefits of a cardio workout. If you prefer to sink into poses rather than moving through them quickly, or if you are needing to quiet your mind and focus on alignment, this is the video for you.

I would LOVE to see many more cardio flows from Melanie! She's the best instructor I've practiced with in the 20 years I've been doing yoga. I return again and again to this class despite it being labeled for beginners, though I'd love to keep growing with the flow. ;)

This was an ideal practice for me. I am a "perpetual beginner". This instructor has a way of taking you right to the edge and then releasing. Always breathing and mindful. I will return to this one again and again. Wonderful instruction.

Unlike the previous commenter, I did this at the end of my day when I was exhausted and didn't think I had any energy in me. The flow was invigorating and quick and I was so relaxed during the final few minutes that I think I fell asleep! Loved it. I have added this to my playlist. Thank you!

This was a great start to my day - only had about 40 minutes and was feeling tired to start. The beginner pace was great for me (even though I'm not a beginner) since I was feeling fatigued. It definitely got my heart rate up but without being taxing. Feeling much better now. Thank you!
