What a beautiful and skillfully led practice. It is wonderful to feel this strength, clarity, spaciousness, spiritual grounding, and loving-care from an Iyengar teacher. I am recovering from a brain injury and this was just the support I needed today to start re-entering the terrain of my bones and musculature more deeply.

Taking this class during the doldrums of the Pandemic was a salve to my soul. Chris quietly invites absorption into her instructions by the steady clear way she gives them. I have a question about urdhva hastasana? You talk about 3 important actions. One action is, move your shoulder blades down. I have heard from some other teachers, let the shoulder blades move up in this pose. Could this also a useful instruction? (I know, this is the apposite, what you say or did I understand something wrong.)

My first time trying Iyengar. Really appreciated this because as a beginner I am constantly concerned with alignment, engaging the correct muscles, and doing poses correctly. I found this practice more restorative, but definitely did generate some heat. Iyengar is definitely intense and requires deep focus.
