I so want to fully get into Jesse's courses. Her flow sequences are really interesting and the level of challenge is just right, but there's just something about the verbal instructions (e.g., the occasional 'please') and the cadence of her voice that I find distracting. I keep coming away feeling like I'm spending time with my daughter's kindergarten teacher. I suppose that what's missing for me is the grounded, calm, and confident yoga teacher voice.

WHICH IS GOOD! There's tons of flow, tons of heat, and this class is amazing. People complain about the holds but THAT builds strength and stamina. Too fast a flow doesn't build any endurance. It's a nicely peppered combination with enough suns and flow, but enough deep holds that make the muscles shake. Don't let the "bored" people dissuade you from taking this class. Another brilliantly sequenced practice, Jesse.

Overall, I liked this class. It was challenging, without being overwhelming and I felt like I got a good workout. The only thing I didn't like, was all of the high-plank to low-planks at the very beginning of the session, before I was fully warmed up.

One of the great challenges from this sequence came from holding the warrior poses--a real workout for the legs. There was also flying pigeon, some one-legged poses, dolphin pose and back bends. A few crunches, too, so the stomach muscles weren't neglected, but that wasn't the main focus. There was also some time in shavasana at the end built in, which I appreciated. All in all, I found this flow left me feeling like I'd toned my muscles while doing a well-rounded flow.

What is the difference between -- legs straight as you jump back with a higher lift in the hips? Or, in this video, the student bent her knees to jump back and seemed to land pretty hard on her toes?
