Release the tightness and stress in your hips and whammies in this flow class. Recommended props: 2 blocks, 1 strap, 1 blanket
Ashley, your chanting at the end was the best part of my day (and my husband surprised me with a scone from my favorite bakery this AM so that's really saying something!! :)). You are a gift. I loved and needed this slow, deep, intentional, and deliciously targeted mobility sequence. I felt like I was in the studio. Beautiful and grounding. Agree with my fellow teachers in the comments, this is an appropriately marked level two and a sophisticated journey into compass. Highly recommend.
I appreciate the way Ashley begins each class with a slow warm-up. I usually practice first thing in the morning and need a gentle start. Great class.
I miss you and your wisdom so much...until we meet again...
What a delight - my hips and hamstrings have been very tight from running (and not adequate stretching - ugh!) so this was challenging and releasing. I particularly liked the alignment cue for the core throughout the class.
I love Ashley's beautiful, calming voice and gentle instructions.
Very calming class. Ashley gives great instruction. Though I'd agree with the others that say this is more like a level 1 than a level 2. The stretches are pretty basic and don't go super deep.
Lovely class. Ashley has a soothing voice. It was perfect for me today.
Thank you! Great class.
Loved this so much! I run several miles every week and really needed this to help stretch and relax my sore legs. Definitely a level 2!
I miss Ashley so much! Her soothing voice, her clear verbal cues and her saying "and by left, I mean right" :) Great class.
Hi Ashley! It was so good to take a class of yours again...made me feel like I was in Teacher Training all over again. And my first time doing compass pose. --Scott
What a lovely class! Very articulate instructions and soothing voice. A perfect combination of movement. Thank you!
Thank you my beautiful friend ❤️
Slow, stretchy prep for compass pose which is really hard. Her voice I could listen to all day, so beautiful. Good, clear instruction. I will look for more from Ashley
I love classes that focus on hips because I need a lot of work in that area. I loved the flow portion of this class as well as the still portions. I feel relaxed and more open after completing it. The last pose was challenging, but I did what I could. I highly recommend. And Ashley is an amazing teacher. Look forward to more classes with her.
Thank you for the positive spirit you bring to your classes :)
Please, Ashley, make more videos! I thoroughly enjoyed this class!
Ashley's soothing teaching style leads a deliberate, easy-paced class that feels focused. Class offers deep stretching for hips and hamstring, with thoughtful and clear instruction & alignment emphasis.
Not much flow but truly lovely and intentional instruction. Exactly what I needed! Responding to other comments- feels like a level 2 (given the peak pose) but slow and deliberate.
This is NOT a level 2 class. This is beginners and not enough of a focus on the hips or hamstrings. Very Basic stretching
Ashley is incredible in giving instructors and making sure it is healing. When I do vinyasa with other teachers my knees hurt especially in Warrior II and chair pose. Here due to her incredible ability to give detailed and clear instructors I FEEL that I do everything correct and muscles that supposed to work - work. Amazing experience. Please make more videos!!!
Ashley gives excellent instructions and is overall a great teacher. The class is challenging but not rushed. She really takes the time to warm you up and build a foundation. Can't wait to try more of her classes.
I am a yogaworks teacher, so I am used to a detailed explanation and slower pace, therefore I wasn't surprised the pace not matching the level labeled the class. Compass pose is a rather advanced and complex pose - the peak of the sequence. I suppose that's why it's in the level 2 category. I loved the 'slow' pace as I am also a marathon runner with achy hamstrings. I really loved the class. It isn't really 'flowy' even if there are a couple of sun saluts so guess thats why most people confuse it for not advanced enough. To me any slower pace paying attention to the detail is more challenging than super speedy flow level 3 class. This is an appropriately level labeled class and great one indeed!:)
This class relaxed my hips, stretched my hammies, and opened my heart. It ended so beautifully.
Should be level 1
I'm so thankful for any class that makes me feel more open to life and it's pathways and this was definitely a great one. Not a level 2 but still a great journey and worth every minute.
My hips and hams are thankful and happy.
Definitely level 1.
Apart from maybe 1 or 2 more difficult stretches, this is more of a level 1 class.
Such a beautiful voice
This was just what I needed to stretch out my hips. This is not a cardio version of yoga, so don't expect to get your heart rate up- this is more abut flexibility. I enjoyed Ashley's style of teaching, her personality, and I plan to try more of her classes.
Love each and one of Ashley's classes. I have had her as a teacher in person and I am so so happy to have found her here! She is a wonderful teacher, at so many levels.. My hamstrings and hips are very happy! Thank you!! : ) Please post more of her classes!
beautiful voice and a lovely class, thank you!
Wonderful class for a calming, nurturing, aligning, and deep practice. Thanks Much!!!
Not a bad class, but I expected something more strenuous and was disappointed I spent 40ish minutes working out without sweating. If you're looking to sweat, I'd choose a power yoga class
I have being missing your classes, Ashley, the timber of your voice, the incredibly flowing instructions and the sequencing. So, when this video "Hips and Hamstrings"popped out on my screen, I sure was on it! The pace of the practice, in fact, gave me a challenge! "Slow" doesn't equals "restorative" (not always at least), even if it does restorative affect on the body and the mind. Moving slower, to me, is means deepening in practice, deepening in breath! There is always micro work that body does to lengthen, to open... whether it lying on the back or in hold standing. Self-awarness is increased during slower motions, and I felt strong even in my core without special core work, feeling stronger, more flexible and invigorating at the end. Thank you, Ashley!
Really calming guided class with a restorative focus. Great if you've spent a lot of time sitting at the office and need to stretch and realign mentally. Still has a bit of a flow sequence which was nice to get the body moving a bit.
Ashley is a great teacher. Very thorough, specific, knowledgeable and well spoken and paced. This class is nice, however it's more of a restorative/level 1 practice.
Thank you for your calm instructions! I will return to one of Ashley's classes when I need to stretch after a long day. Definitely restorative!
I was expected a little more challenge from a class labeled a level 2 flow. Except for the compass pose at the end, this was really a level 1 class. There were a few minutes of a flow in the middle, other than that, it was quite restorative. We spend a lot of time on our backs in the beginning, so I was a bit sleepy for the rest of the class :).
Definitely good if a slower, restorative class is what you're looking for. I felt good at the end and Ashley had a nice, calming voice. Was just looking for something a bit more energizing this morning.
This is the first video class I have taken with Ashley. Her style is calming, encouraging and soothing. I will definitely try her other video classes.
When your hamstrings are tight, everything else starts to tighten as well.Feel better and help reverse the damage that’s been done with this short class. Recommended props: 1 block, 1 strap
Work on getting into hanumanasana, or the splits, in this playful hamstring opening class. Did you know we have an entire Journey to Hanumanasana?
Recommended props: 2 blocks, 1 strap
Focus on external rotations for your hamstrings, hips and butt in this energetic class that has you move sideways. Recommended props: 1 block
This flow class is all about opening the hamstrings. Not warming up the hamstrings adequately can cause the lower back to flatten in certain poses leading to weakness in the lower back over time. Recommended props: 2 blocks, 1 blanket
