Practice king pigeon pose - a hip opener and backbend all in one. Recommended props: 2 blocks, 1 blanket, 1 strap
Calm clear instruction. Beautiful transitions. Accessible modifications.
Intelligently constructed and beautifully delivered. Thank you.
Patti never disappoints! Incredible, mindful class that builds very sequentially and thoughtfully into final pose in a way that makes this difficult pose much more accessible. Wonderful class that leaves you feeling so open and centered at the end.
Revisited this class after 5 years and it's still a great one.
This class is so thoughtful and well-paced, like all of her classes. YogaWorks has some stupendous teachers but Patti is really special, a born teacher and healer. Thank you, Patti! Your pre- and post-natal classes were a port in the pregnancy storm and I now relish being able to work on more challenging poses like King Pigeon thanks to your excellent guidance.
Very nice class with many asanas and nice variations leading to a king pigeon...love it. Thanks a lot.
King pigeon has always been a challenging pose for me, but after going through the sequence I was surprised how deep I was able to go! I can't do the full pose, but I could follow quite easily through the second version she showed. Pleasantly surprised I could even do that and it felt pretty good! This one is one I would do again!
i am so excited for this class, found the whole sequence and explanations so helpful and can't wait to try it again when my muscles have recovered a bit :-) challenging in the best of ways while at the same time nourishing and self caring instructions, thank you so much!
Nice class! More of a level 2 for the majority though..
Agreed. Delicious class but a lot of instruction and gets quite choppy at the peak pose, more level 2 than 3. So yummy though, Patti is wonderful.
I loved your sequence! It has gotten me into my deepest eka pada raja kapotanasana to date. I can already turn my first elbow up to the ceiling and still hold on to the foot, which almost touched my head! Now I need to work on getting the other arm to reach over and hold on to the foot. Any tips on this? Your instructions and tips were brilliant!
I loved the sequencing, but for poses which were done on both sides, it was noticeable how much longer the first side was held vs the second side. Nevertheless, I thought it was an excellent class and one I will revisit. Thanks!
I loved this practice. It allowed me to get as close to king pigeon as ever. I'm making this one part of my routine.
Really great sequence that built heat and addressed every component part of the final pose. My king pigeon is still not there yet, but Ill practice this sequence to someday get there!
amazingly smooth and detailed instruction through, heat-building, deep poses
