Push yourself and strengthen your body in this class that focuses on basic poses as part of the power yoga series.
Very very good. Warm super strong and flexible after this video class 🙏🏻
An excellent flow, some long holds to build strength, made these basic poses feel challenging and fresh 10/10
Thanks Vytas! Love the way we work into a rhythm that matches our breath.
I did not know what I was expecting, but I absolutely loved the challenge. It was just basic poses and felt bit more like Hatha, but definitely was Power Yoga at same time. I enjoyed the challenge and the 29 minutes passed by so fast. Thank you!!
Love this series of power yoga, I’m a beginner who started these a couple of months ago, after recovering from a serious illness, I’ve never been so fit and strong in my life, 3 months of this class I have achieved more results than 20yearsof going to the gym ! I’m totally amazed at the results and am hooked on yoga now ! Thank you so much for excellent teaching
I feel like I got just as much work as I would in a 60 minute flow. Great instruction, flows nicely, is a good switch up from normal sun salutations. Definitely sweaty! Breath builds heat!
Press the shins back! The best instruction for bow pose that helps me lift my thighs higher. Thank you vytas for such clear instruction!
Great 29 minutes.
Vytas is one of our top two instructors in my household, and this class did not disappoint. Nice and challenging for a Level 2 class, even for anyone who is a lifelong athlete. Very doable at 30 minutes -- you could even do it twice for a longer practice.
Who is the second top Instructor? Can't hurt to mix things a bit.
Jess Schein -- she's great!
Omg they're my faves, too!
Great workout. Was slightly distracted by his initial comments in the 30 min workout about one model as though she wasn't there. Some comments take away from the flow as if it was competitive but I do appreciate that he pushes you to work hard.
A lot of teachers make comments! It’s not personal! this class is excellent!
I absolutely agree with the previous comment, Vytas isn't rude at all! He's a fantastic instructor that challenges his students. Sure, some folks might miss wish he used a more inclusive language, but that doesn't mean he's rude.
Vytas is fantastic and his classes are a great workout and very functional.
had to comment in response to the comment that Vytas is rude. he's really not. he's a great teacher who pushes students not to be lazy. he said 'great job' and 'I'm proud of you' repeatedly. the 'most people' reference was that 'most people find malasana to be a relaxing pose.' hardly rude.
I find the class to be a good way to stretch and gain strength but agree with you on method. I do not care for his arrogance in correction of poses and his posture. Not a person I would want to know.
Great workout - really worked up a sweat!
I have been doing yoga for many years but I have to say... that was one of the best! Challenging, fun, and memorable!! I worked hard and felt powerful and I will definitely keep seeking out this instructor's classes. BRAVO!!
The flow was fine and my body felt good after, but boy this instructor is rude. I was distracted by how he talked to the models and his common refrain of how "most people" experience the poses and I won't seek out more of his classes.
just what i needed!
fabulous class, first time using the online class. Excited to explore more classes to keep up my practice.
Love all things Vytas!! Fun and challenging. Back to the foundation of yoga poses.
I'm not into the meditation kind of yoga. I like a good workout and this does it perfectly. Vytas is my favorite instructor so far, not talking too much but encouraging you to be your best. I'll be back for more power yoga! Thanks!
Great challenge to end my day!!! Thank you so much!! I can wait for tomorrow's class!
WHO SAID YOGA WAS EASY!! O.o
Simple poses added up to a challenging class. Don’t mind the serious tone and the challenge to keep going. Found it motivational. Is almost cartoonishly mean to the awesome female model and nice to the male one (is Max really so shrewd ;))
Wow. Didn’t get that vibe at all. Maybe lighten up and ask ana how she felt. He’s a great teacher. Just doesn’t sugar coat.
I will repeat this 38 minute class before moving on to the 43 min. I appreciate your emphasis on feeling and maintaining each pose. Being still is a workout.
Hey Vitas, I found your 30 minute detox practice with Liz on my local gym (I live on the border of Texas) and you got me back into my yoga flow! Im so grateful, I love your teaching style and the way you conduct them, now i do yoga here at home and on my lunch break at the gym and i feel like so badass! really, incredible classes!
I love, love, love this class and all of Vytas' classes for that matter. Challenging but oh so satisfying at the end. I can see real changes in my body from doing Vytas' classes. Thank you Vytas 🙏🏼
Great challenge and pleased I could keep up; but I need to reactive this routine to get it smoother; he's very encouraging and I'm so glad I came back to Yogaworks!!! Thank you!
Ditto. This class brought me back.
Great Instructor! Very detailed with postures, I feel safe with no worries about my body getting injured. Thank you.
I love this challenging class. The teacher's enthusiasm and positional cues are excellent and encouraged me to keep going when it got tough!
Really challenging, but felt amazing. In a pool of sweat right now
Wow. I'm out of breath! This is an intense and challenging workout. 😅
I started on this poweryoga this morning. First alignment as a reminder, then nr 1 and 2. Nr 2 became one of my favorites! I like the instructor too,- clear, direct and different!
Just had a baby 11 weeks ago and this is a great way to ease into my practice again. Vytas is my favorite instructor - in each class he says something that I use as a mantra (on and off the mat) this time... functional poses are the best poses (or something like that) i'm not going to need to put my leg behind my head while caring for my LO but staying grounded? breathing deep? You bet! Love this!
liked the really useful refereence to functional poses as gold standard, great class , instructor not your usual type of yoga teacher but what you see is what you get, which is refreshing!
enjoyed and thank you !
But the instructor sounds like a condescending bro. He is the rare type of yoga instructor that seems to revel in the power dynamic of himself as drill-sergeant master holding his students and the models "accountable." I guess some people like that and to each their own. Personally, I like the rigorous workout but don't love the vibe of his voice. I may just do it without sound next time.
Totally agree. Great workout but felt judged the whole time and for the 20-30 minute sessions seemed like he was bored to be there.
It's very challenging but totally worth it. myyogaworks has helped my spinal health! I hardly ever have back pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This class left me feeling strong and energized. An excellent 30 minute class that hits all the right areas. Vyta is a great instructor who provides the right verbal cues, hints, and encouragement at the right moment.
Last time I attempted this was 7 months ago. At 65 and with a variety of issues, I have had a slow journey, but I consider this time not just a finish, but a success! I added blocks but still feel like I got a great workout!
Vito has the best of both worlds working with this class/ excellent workout and instruction and respectful engagement with his audience. How refreshing! Having clicked on previous courses Vito has online and getting the dichotomy of a great workout from a rather disgruntled instructor; I was hesitant about taking this Power Yoga course. I'm so glad I did ! Thank you!
I get the same vibe as James with many of Vytas' classes...like he's almost scornful of the whole thing. But I really like his focus on fundamentals nonetheless...and I LOVE this particular class. He's a tough task master, but I really feel good when I'm done.
Absolutely a butt-kicking basics class. Perfect as a jumpstart in the morning for a home practice. I also liked Vytas' instruction this class. Usually I find him very aloof, almost to the point of wondering whether he even wants to be in the class. Not so with this video. He was engaged, regularly cueing posture pointers, and encouraging to stick with the long holds. I really appreciated the shift!
First time to the site and first video watched and completed! I liked this instructor. I am excited to be a part of this awesome community.
Vytas is one of my favorite instructors. This was indeed simple, yet challenging. Excellent to strengthen your practice and understanding the basics of your movements.
Thank you yoga works!
Great class and it is exactly as it's described - strong flow of basic Level 1 poses. Excellent 30 minute workout!
2nd time I've done this this week and I love that it challenges me. I did a fun MMA type work out this morning and wanted to do "something" more tonight that would really stretch me...but not really needing a restorative practice. This was fun...again!
I have been practicing for a decade and this level 1 made me work! Great class for when you're traveling, don't have a lot of space (or even a mat) and want to feel challenged in a short amount of time.
Vytas' classes are all hardcore--even the beginner ones.
Hard for me to believe that was level 1. I really struggled. I am going to try this one again in the morning instead of the evening to see how that works!
Loved this class. I am just getting back into yoga. So, I found the class challenging, but definitely doable. Mind over matter! Stick with it. You will be so happy you did.
Stuck with it and feeling great and energised
Definitely challenged me. Will hold onto this one for a little while to master the flow before moving onto the 3rd level.
Wow did I feel it in just the perfect ways. My new favorite. It's definitely going to be a minute before I try Level 3 though
All the way without stopping! Ok, I did skip a few up dogs, but still, I am stronger! Thank you, Vytas!
At 17 minutes I had to stop for several minutes to catch my breath and stop feeling nauseated. Then I started again and finished. I'm not sure that I enjoyed the class but I do realize I can't get stronger without doing a lot more than I've done so far. My biggest challenge is still getting my foot from downward dog to my hands. By the time I get it there Vytas and the models are several steps ahead, which raises my frustration level and lowers motivation to continue. I did, but I think it will be quite awhile before I get to the next level !
Like Vytas says, if you were looking for restorative yoga you wouldn't have picked a Power Yoga class. This is a great class touching on some of the basics with a little more power involved. I'm fairly used to Vytas' tough classes and although this was not overly challenging, I always like revisiting the basics. This was a perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I must say I have to disagree with the comment about it being too fast. I've done several Power Yoga classes and my HR always increases to a point. So somewhat aerobic, yes. But just listen to Vytas' instructions and you'll do just fine. Thanks Vytas!
I must say I love it, love it , love it. Exactly what I need to get this 10 and half hour work day started. Great Instructor. Love the encouragement and the push. Feeling strong and free. Thank you.
I am doing this yoga power yoga , and from what I know power yoga is more slow. the third part was fast like ashtanga yoga. Power yoga is not so fast, It is not the point to get heart attack. THe teacher could be more patiant and more caring.... helping with modofocations also, Mr. Vytas is not so plaisant for me; well this series power itsmore frustrating the way he is doing . Do you have any yoga nidra at the end of practise in your site? Namaste , I will see power yoga 4 but POWER yoga and any yoga HATHA YOGA is not aerobic. Thanks for understanding.
I was tight and sore in the morning, so I wanted something slightly less intense than a level 3. This class was just a click below your typical level 3 and was exactly what I needed to strengthen and work out the tightness in my legs. Thanks!
