The instructor seems knowledgeable and instructions are clear, but there is practically no transition between different sides of the poses, sometimes between poses, just jumping to the front of your mat or simply turning your feet out to other side. I was lacking fluidity, the class felt truncated.

I’ve not taken an ashtanga class as far as I know, but it seemed to be a lot of vinyasas with a few poses sprinkled in. Since I’m having problems with my shoulders, I found the class frustrating. And I agree that the poses were not held long enough. The instructor seems knowledgeable but I’m still confused as to what ashtanga is other then a bunch of vinyasas... :(

A lot of the Vinyasa/Power yoga classes in the western world are strongly based on traditional Ashtanga flow. Ashtanga is always done at a fairly fast pace.

I enjoyed this 45 minute Ashtanga class. Sequence was nice and counting in Sanskrit added to the tristana piece of this practice. Sound could be better; it was a challenge to hear. Your voice is nice and would add to the class if you were better heard.

This is my first ashtanga class, so I don't know if this is typical, but it seemed to move too quickly between poses. This made the class easier than I believe it should be because there was no difficulty with holding poses.

This class is ok. Pretty easy and the first two minutes is the instructor talking. The other Ashtanga flow is much better. I would say this is a level 1 not level 2. It’s a great class if you want more of a stretch than a flow.

This is a great class for Ashtanga. I generally follow Vinyasa in my practice but it was great to do something slightly different. I just thought that Surya A and B sequences went by a little fast in the beginning otherwise, loved her counting in Sanskrit during the last Surya B.

Thank you for this class! I've been hoping for an Ahtanga class here for a long time and I'm so excited to finally see one. The volume is a wee bit choppy in spots but I don't think it's the instructors fault. Still easy enough to hear, though it definitely helps to be familiar with the sequence. Perfect pace for me too! Hoping to see more Ashtanga, maybe a full length class or more short forms.
