Engage your core and twist in standing and seated poses in this fun and strong class. Recommended props: 2 blocks

I think this class would have been better as a teacher training class. It was too much cueing to allow me to finish the class. I ended up watching the class, and then doing it on my own from memory. Maybe if it had been recommended to watch first it may have been easier to follow along. Another suggestion, remember you are a student first. This instructor although she appeared knowledgeable, needed to keep in mind that people will be following from home, and you may need to incorporate different cues than you would for an in-person practice.

Waaay tooo much cueing. I’m not saying the cues are not good, but be prepared to listen to 1000 cues while you hold the pose. Couldn’t finish it!

People like to hate on the cues, but I prefer them in a recorded class so I don't have to keep looking at the screen. She gives great details if you're looking to refine some movements. This was an interesting combination of poses and sequences that give a good muscular workout. Definitely recommend a block, it changes the muscular focus. The class does end a little abruptly so you may want to add your own cool down/shavasana.

I really like this one. It's very original, and Laura gives great cues (especially if you're ready for subtleties). I love the fact that there are no sun salutations. Thank you!

Agree with the other comments that the class is heavy on cuing. I was hoping for a little more movement and flow, too.

It was impossible to enjoy with all the talking. Please see all the other comments - most agreee.

Such great body awareness, strength and flexibility. Super instruction. This is a class for yogis who really want to experience and learn from the poses

Not enough movement & poses.

It was a really good workout but I didn't enjoy all the talking - it was distracting and made it hard to keep a flow. I also didn't like that it ended without any stretches or shavasana.

Great use of the block for engaging outer hips and core.

Really love the way she helped keep my attention on maintaining the proper form. Great class.

The constant talking was terrible. The class could have been good without it.

I struggled towards the end working into a side plank but now I have something to work towards!

Great workout! 30 minutes ended so quickly. Can’t wait for a longer class.

I'm probably pretty much at Level 2 and was able to hang in for most of this class - the core work is really good. The last 5-10 minutes though got tough (crescent into side plank, etc.) and I flopped at that point. But that allows me to know what I need to work on! I enjoyed the teacher and her enthusiasm, thanks!

Very helpful with bring your attention to how important the core is in so many poses. Lots of holding poses while she details exactly what you should be focusing on and building heat. It left me sweating!

This class consists of relatively simple postures, but challenging in that it builds heat and strength. She incorporates a lot of cues to ensure alignment is top of mind, and pushes you to challenge yourself. I love that the class has some flow incorporated, along with the long-ish holds and core busters.

I am a level 3 yogi- this class is seemingly easy but you will definitely break a sweat by the end. This class is more focused on building strength vs a vinyasa flow, but you will find several vinyasas in here as well. Yes, Laura is descriptive with her poses and transitions, but it's detailed descriptions like these that really allows a yogi to excel and advance their practice no matter what level. If you're truly listening to her you'll find this is a nice transitionary level 2 to level 3 class that provides fundamental instructions you'll always use. Thank you Laura for your thoughtful instructions!

Could not finish the video. The instructor seems very nice, but there is entirely too much talking to the point it feels like more talking than actual movement. Also struggled with the singing cues. (Many of the instructors on MyYogaworks seem to forget most people take a yoga class to do yoga, not to listen to non-stop commentary throughout the class! Many otherwise amazing classes are marred by this. Less is more!)
