Combine the heat-building movement of vinyasa flow with strength-building holds that focus on alignment. This class is influenced by Iyengar yoga. Recommended props: 1 block

If you do a lot of yoga classes, you run into the run of the mill “sun A, sun B, a few poses, then rest. Not with Calvin’s creativity! Your classes not only keep my body working, but my mind is fully engaged as well. Keep up the awesome classes, you have touched more people than you could imagine 😌😍

Calvin is by far my favorite teacher. This class is amazing. It is so challenging in the best way. Never overwhelming. Very calming and amazinggggg. Thank you so much.

recommend ! So good for tight hamstrings as well - which helped me today since I have been working them too much in my workouts. Perfect :)

I was hesitant as to whether this flow was for me, but it is SO good. Unconventional sequencing breaking up LONG held standing poses and peppered with sun salutations (as another commenter said, I too added more suns on my own to my breath). Turns out this was exactly the practice I needed to focus my mind. Funny how that happens. :) If you're hesitating, I highly recommend you just go for it. Cultivates such lovely mental stamina. Calvin is such a sophisticated instructor.

I don't know why I was skeptical this was Level 3. I'm a yoga teacher and this class whooped my tail. Long, LONG holds that really reveal your weak spots. Amazing!

Majorly agree! Ditto this whole comment.

After 2 months of lockdown this was the PERFECT class. Holding the poses for long periods force a meditative mind, at least in my case. Thanks Calvin, extraordinary!

Thank you Calvin. I never took your classes before Covid but working through them one by one. Motivating and calming at the same time. Thanks so much.

I really love Calvin’s pace, strength, voice and sequencing. This class is strong, yet calm. I miss Calvin’s classes in SM, but I’m loving his YW online classes. Thank you.

Great class. Goes a long way for my mind and body as we shelter in place with three kids under ten. Definitely going to watch this again :) Thank you, Calvin!

I learned a new expression, “spirit fingers” :)

longer holds with lots of detailed cuing. The flow parts are slow, and i sped them up and did more sun A's and sun B's. Good challenging class

Missing being in class in person in the age of Covid-19. Enjoyed doing this long class! Thank you!

Due to my work schedule, I wasn't able to take the regular classes, but now finally I get a chance to experience this great detailed class. Thank you Calvin!

Loved this class. In the beginning I was worried it wouldn't be strenuous enough for me as the pace was quite slow, boy was I wrong!!!! I worked up quite a sweat with these strong holds. I'm so glad I went out of my comfort zone for this one.
Thank you Calvin!

LOVED this class calvin! thank you

This was a really great and challenging class but hard to really get grounded in the poses because there was just way too much talking. The constant instruction though useful was a bit repetitive and could have been condensed to a few main points and then let the focus be on the breathe for the long holds. Otherwise a really good challenge. Thank you.

Agree this is a level 3. Possibly my fave Yogaworks class so far. Thank you Calvin.

It was a lovely class. I would suggest removing the mention of Iyengar Yoga from this description: the teacher may associate moving slower with attention to alignment as Iyengar Yoga but the class really doesnt share much of the Iyengar principles or methodology. I also agree with previous comments that it should be catergorized as a level two. Particularly because Calvin’s verbiage is more about teaching the fundamentals of a pose.

Very challenging and as Calvin said, when you do long poses, you begin to expose your weaknesses. Excellent progression.

I actually think this is accurately classified as a Level 3 class, as it is quite challenging to hold the poses for so long. In the end, I feel so relaxed and challenged.

-

Not a level 3 class. Moved very slow with a focus on alignment but had nothing challenging in it..

Such a wonderful class! Calvin is a real master of sequencing. I feel calmer and more alive after this intense strength and heat building class. Excellent!!!
